Jane Seymour (c. 1508 until 24 October 1537) was the queen of England as the third wife of King Henry VIII of England from their wedding on the 30th of May 1536 until her death following year. Following the execution of Anne Boleyn, Henry's second wife, was executed, she became Queen. After having given birth to her sole child, the future King Edward VI, she died of postnatal complications. She was the sole wife of Henry to receive an honorary funeral for the queen or be buried beside him in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.Jane was a maid-of-honour from 1532 to Queen Catherine and Queen Catherine, however she could be serving her as early as 1527, and then went on to serve Queen Anne along with her sister Elizabeth. [citation needed] The first mention of Henry's interest in Jane was in February 1536, which was three months before Anne's execution.Jane was not as educated than Henry's previous and second wives, Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn.
