Ken Burns

 American producer and director Ken Burns has a net value of $3.5 million. Ken Burns is an American filmmaker, known for his numerous documentaries as well as documentary series on a variety of historical topics. His most notable works include "The Civil War,"" Jazz," Prohibition," The Roosevelts," and the "Vietnam War." Burns his filmmaking style has been praised for his use of archival footage and slow zooms into and out of photographs which is known as the "Ken Burns effect. Burns has received more than 20 honorary degrees. His film "The Civil War" has won more than 40 major television and film awards, included two Emmy Awards and two Grammy Awards, Producer of the Year Award (from the Producers Guild of America) and an People's Choice Award and a Peabody Award. He also received a duPont–Columbia Award as well as the D. W. Griffith Award. The $50,000 Lincoln Prize was awarded to him. His 2017 documentary "The Vietnam War" was also lauded.There is the Ken Burns Wing at the Jerome Liebling Center for Film, Photography and Video at Hampshire College. Burns was recognized with the S. Roger Horchow award for the most outstanding public service performed by private citizens in 2004, an award that Jefferson Awards gives out each year.
