Sherry D. Jackson (born on February 15th 1942) is an American retired actress and former child star.In 1950, young Sherry began to make friends with actor Steve Cochran when she was working with him on The Lion and the Horse. Steve introduced his co-worker writer Montgomery Pittman, to Sherry's widowed mother. A romance developed, and Pittman was married Maurita Jackson in a small ceremony on the 4th of June 1952, in Torrance, California, with Sherry as flower girl and her younger brother Gary as the ring bearer. Cochran himself was Pittman's best man. Cochran hired Pittman in 1955 to write Come Next Spring, his first film that Cochran had produced. Sherry was the character Annie Ballot, Cochran's daughter who is mute, a part Pittman wrote specifically for his step-daughter.During the time she was in a variety of the Ma and Pa Kettle films in the 1950s as Susie Kettle, one of the titular couple's numerous children, Jackson also appeared in The Breaking Point, which featured John Garfield in his penultimate film in the role of John Garfield.
