 Wesley Trent Snipes (born July 31 1962) is an American actor, film producer, and martial artist. His most well-known roles in films include Major League (1989), New Jack City (91), White Men Can't jump (1992), Passenger 57(92), Rising Sun (1993), Demolition Man, (1993), To Wong Foo and Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995), U.S. Marshals (1998), The Expendables 3 (2014), Coming 2 America (2021) as well as the Blade film trilogy (1998-2004), portraying Blade. The most well-known of his roles is his performance in The Player (2015) on television. Snipes was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for his performance in The Waterdance (1992) and was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his role in the movie One Night Stand (1997). In the year 1991, he founded Amen-Ra Films and a subsidiary, Black Dot Media to create television and film projects. He was raised in Bronx, New York. He attended the High School of Performing Arts of Fiorello H.
