Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. They moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five years old and attended the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she decided she wanted to become an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. From the age of 10 the actress took part in and played the leading role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the film adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for very first time back in the year 1999. Agents for casting found Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after auditions of 8. They were cast as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It broke all records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was the highest-grossing film of 2001. Critics have praised both the film, as well as the performances by the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Later Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her performance in the film and was awarded her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in a Feature Film.
