Lucille Frances Lawless, MNZM (nee Ryan; born 29 March 1968) is a New Zealand actress and singer. Her roles include Xena in the television show Xena the Warrior Princess, D'Anna Biers in the new Battlestar Galactica series and Lucretia on Spartacus Blood and Sand. She also starred as the Countess Palatine Ingrid Von Marburg, the supernatural WGN America series called Salem (2015). She also played Ruby on the Starz horror-comedy show Ash vs Evil Dead (2015-2018).Lucille Frances "Lucy" Ryan was born in the Auckland suburb of Mount Albert to teacher Julie Ryan (nee Haynes) and the mayor of Mount Albert, banker Frank Ryan. She is the sixth of six siblings (four brothers and one sister). She describes her family as "this sprawling, Irish Catholic family."
