American comedian and actor Thomas Jacob Black was born on August 28th on the 28th of August, 1969. He is known for his roles as an actor in the movies High Fidelity (2000), Shallow Hal (2001), Orange County (2002), School of Rock (2003), Envy (2004), The Holiday (2006), Gulliver's Journeys (2010), Bernie (2011), The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) and the Jumanji franchise; in addition, as of August 2022 his music video for "Tribute"--as one half of the comedy rock duo that won Grammy Awards Tenacious D--has accumulated more than 112 million views on YouTube alone. Black is also well-known for his voice-over roles as Po, the giant panda from DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda films. Black earned Golden Globe nominations for his performances in School of Rock and Bernie and was awarded a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in 2018.He is the vocalist in charge of the band Tenacious D, and formed the group in 1994 along with his long-time friend Kyle Gass. The self-titled debut album Tenacious D and The Pick of Destiny was their fourth studio album.
