Sir Sean Connery, born Thomas Connery on August 25, 1930, died on October 31, 2020. He was a Scottish actor. Connery was the first actor to play the fictional British secret agent James Bond on film, playing in seven Bond films between 1962 between 1962 and 1983. Connery was the original actor for Dr. No. He was Bond in six Eon Productions entries, and his final appearance was in Never Say Never Again. Connery first began acting in small theatres and TV productions before being chosen to play Bond. He was not a fan of the attention that Bond gave him off-screen, but the Bond films did well and Connery received offers from Sidney Lumet, Alfred Hitchcock and John Huston. The films where Connery was a part of included Marnie (1964), The Hill (1965), Murder on the Orient Express (1974) as well as The Man Who Would Be King (1975).
