 American actor and comedian Steven John Carell is /k@’relSteven John Carell is a comedian and actor from the United States of America. He was born on August 16, 1962. Carell played the character of Michael Scott on The Office (2005-2011, 2013) The Office, NBC's version of the British series created by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant. Carell was also an occasional writer, producer, and director. Carell has received numerous accolades for his performance in TV and in film, such as the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for a Television Series Musical or Comedy for his work on The Office. Life magazine named him America's Funniest man. He also gained recognition for his work as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart between 1999 and 2005. He then appeared in a variety of comedy films, such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) and its 2013 sequel, as well as The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Evan Almighty (2007), Get Smart (2008), Date Night (2010), Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) and The Way, Way Back (2013). He also voiced the characters in Over the Hedge (2006), Horton Hears a Who! (2008), and Despicable Me (2010-present).
