American actress and activist Susan Abigail Sarandon (/s@’raend@n/, nee Tomalin) was born October 4, 1946. She has received numerous awards such as an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and an Screen Actors Guild Award, along with nominations for an Daytime Emmy Award, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and nine Golden Globe Awards. She was honored with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002 for her contribution to the field of film. In 1974, she appeared as an Zelda Fitzgerald character in the TV film F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Last of the Belles', and the following year, she starred as Janet Weiss in the musical comedy horror film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Sarandon was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in Atlantic City (1980), Thelma & Louise (91) and Lorenzo's Oil(922) and The Client (1994).
